Ingredients

  • 4 dressed catfish
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 6 servings vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup cornmeal

Steps

  1. Combine flour, cornmeal, garlic powder and salt. Coat catfish with mixture, shaking off excess. Fill deep pot or 12-inch skillet half full with oil.
  2. Heat to 350 degrees.
  3. Add catfish in a single layer, and fry until golden brown, 5 to 6 minutes, depending on size.
  4. Remove and drain on paper towels.
